He is the scientist who accidentally discovered a new coral fragmentation method which is growing coral 40 times faster than in the wild.

Coral is an imperative part of our ecosystem that has been severely affected by global warming. As a trained scuba diver, I would love to see David’s discoveries work in the wild. Normal coral sexual maturity takes anywhere from 25 to 75 years. David’s accidental new coral fragmentation discovery in Mote Laboratory too just 3 years. Conservationists and Scientists plan to plant 100,000 pieces of coral around the Florida Reef Tract by the end of 2019. Millions more around the world need to be planted in the years to come.
