The finish is real lacquer applied at our cabinet shop. This piece was shown in an ELLE DECOR designer showcase home. With lacquer, you may notice hairline scratches which can be buffed out if you are a perfectionist. By nature, the finish will have wood showing through that some people may consider “chipped”. If imperfections bother you lacquer outside of Italy is probably not your friend.
